Savannah Locally Grown supports small farms and gardeners that offer fresh, locally grown produce directly to individuals and businesses in the Southeast Georgia region.

More and more consumers are shopping for local food sources and demanding that their local grocery stores stock local options for meat, produce and dairy. Now you can make your purchases here directly from the grower using this very website!

HOW IT WORKS

Each week, our farmers and growers list their seasonally-available products here on this website.

Depending on the time of year, the goods offered can vary with a variety of traditional vegetables, fruits, meats, legumes, milled products, dairy, fresh flowers, mushrooms, eggs, herbs, honey, firewood, live plannts, soaps and artisan goods.

All of our items are fresh, locally and sustainably-grown.

This site allows you to order your desired products directly from the growers or farmers that are within your neighborhood.

Our History

Savannah Locally Grown is based on a nationally-recognized model program in Athens, Georgia. Athens Locally Grown was founded in 2001 through the combined efforts of Dan and Kristen Miller(Heirloom Organics) and the input from current and past member farms. Currently Athens Locally Grown sells an abundance of products to over 4000 individuals and families as well as local restaurants and grocery stores. We here at Savannah Locally Grown hope to duplicate their success and strive to find new and innovative ways to preserve greenspace, protect natural resources, support local economies, provide meaningful work and return to a more self-sufficient way of life.

PLACING ORDERS

Be sure you understand who we are and how we work before you create an account and place an order.

Every Friday at noon, a list of available products will be sent to everyone with an account with Savannah Locally Grown. Customers may place their order for the week at any time between Friday noon through Sunday at 8:00 P.M. Orders are placed via this website. Be sure to look for your confirmation receipt that will ensure your order was received and is being processed.

Farmers and growers receive their ‘harvest reports’ by email each week – just in time to deliver to our market on Tuesday afternoons.

Membership Fees

To provide with farm tours, educational programs, and to help us with our overhead costs, we ask that you pay an annual fee of $25 per household for one calendar year. You are welcome to try us for two orders before you pay the membership. The website will automatically add the membership fee to your third order.

PICKING UP ORDERS

At the present time, we are offering the following pick-up locations:
Habersham YMCA 6400 Habersham Street 31405

Oh no! I forgot to pickup my order! Now what?
Well, I’m sorry we missed you!
About a half hour before we close up, we’ll call you if you haven’t come yet, using the phone number you tied to your account. If you have a cell phone, use that number! If we still haven’t been able to reach you, your items will be donated or given away! We do not have a means to keep items until the next market, or to deliver them to you. If we were able to reach you on the phone, we may be able to work out an arrangement, but otherwise, your items will be donated or given away! Since the growers harvested just for you, and (more importantly) since we paid the growers on your behalf when they brought them to our market, you are still responsible for paying for items, even if you do not pick them up. We’ll charge your account, and that amount will get added to your next order.
